Job Description

Our client, a global company with experience in the design and building of industrial plants in the energy industry is looking for a MV & LV Boiler Inspector / Heat Exchanger Inspector in Ogden, Utah for a 6-month contract position.

The successful candidate will have experience with MV Boilers and LV Heaters and witness and hold point inspection work activities. The resident inspector will provide daily expediting and/or in-process inspection work. Please submit your resume prior to June 28, 2024

Qualifications

  • Welding inspectors must be certified as an American Welding Society CWI, CSA W178.2 (Level 2 or 3), CSWIP 3.1 certified welding inspector or Company approved equivalent.
  • Candidate must be certified to ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level II or approved equivalent for MT, PT, and RT (interpretation).
  • Candidate will be qualified and certified to meet applicable Industrial Standards and codes.
  • Candidate will have a minimum of 6 to 9 years' experience around fabrication inspection of Mechanical Equipment and Pressure Vessel/Heat Exchangers for the large industrial projects.
  • Candidate will be familiar and have experience with the welding process and type of equipment being used on the Project (GTAW, FCAW, GMAW, PAW, SMAW, SAW,)
  • Candidate will have experience with mechanical testing of welds (i.e. tensile tests, bend tests, Charpy V-notch tests, hardness tests, etc.)
  • Candidate will have experience with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs), Procedure Qualification Reports (PQRs), Welder Performance Qualifications in accordance with ASME Section V and Section IX.
  • Candidate will be proficient at interpretation of fabrication drawings. Must have excellent understanding of welding, weld symbols, and weld inspection per AWS D1.1 and ASME B31.3. Candidate will be familiar with the post weld heat treating requirements of ASME B31.3.
  • The hourly rate for this position is between $40 and $45/hour.
  • Work schedule is 5 days a week/8 hours a day.
