Weber State University Leave Specialist in OGDEN, Utah

The Leave Specialist will report to,and work closely with,the Leave Coordinator to administer campus-wide leave requests and accommodations,particularly those associated with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). With the help of the Leave Coordinator,the Leave Specialist will handle the FMLA leave administration process from the employee s initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. In addition,this position will be responsible for the intake of new ADA accommodation requests,as well as handling intake for Worker s Compensation claims and requesting medical information from providers. This individual will also have responsibility for other administrative tasks related to leave such as: entering FMLA leave hours; monitoring FMLA usage and communicating balances with supervisors and employees; organizing digital records; sending follow-up communication to both supervisors and employees; and navigating the return-to-work process.This position will also be expected to learn Weber State policies and processes related to leave and help employees in navigating and understanding those policies.
