SOUTHWEST RESEARCH INSTITUTE LEAD TECHNICIAN - Avionics Technician - Ogden, Utah in OGDEN, Utah

Who We Are:

The Tactical Aerospace Department (TAD) provides aerospace related research, development, production, test and/or support to new products, sustainment, and modernization programs for the DoD industry, Allies, and U.S. Government.

Objectives of this Role:

Support maintenance and repair of A-10 aircraft as initiated by submitted field support requests for related avionics and engine systems (will require travel.) Provide mechanical and technical assistance for complex Depot and Field level technical issues.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

Position is on-site at Hill AFB with travel as required to other AFB's to support aircraft. Answer telephone, e-mail, and in-person support requests. Assist maintainers in troubleshooting aircraft wiring, and aircraft components by initiating and performing an mechanical analysis of the system failure, determine the root cause of the failure, and provide a corrective action to remedy the failure. Provide ability to perform and/or assist in Time Compliance Technical Order validation/verification efforts. Support in evaluation, testing, installation, and repair of existing and experimental new avionic technologies as they are applied to and installed on the A-10C aircraft.

Requirements:

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. 20 years: Experience testing or maintenance experience, preferably on military aircrafts or systems. Fabrication, assembly, documentation, maintenance or troubleshooting electronics systems. Demonstrated capability to communicate clearly - verbally, textually and graphically - to technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels. A valid/clear driver's license is required.

Special Requirements:

Work assignment is in Ogden, Utah. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
