Description: WAGE: $24.26 - DOQ DEPARTMENT: Economic Development PERSONNEL STATUS: Part Time BENEFITS: Retirement, 401k match, Sick/Vacation

OVERVIEW :

Under administrative direction and supervision of the Economic Development Director, manages and coordinates all activities and operations relating to economic development within the Economic Development department. Coordinates assigned activities with other divisions, departments, outside agencies, and business organizations, and provides administrative support to the Economic Development Director.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES :

Participates in the organization and execution of Economic Development department initiatives, projects, programs, and marketing. Responsibilities include:

Tracks and records all economic development financial incentives and programs.

Compiles economic data and provides data for requests for information (RFIs).

Responds to and/or coordinates with Northern Utah Economic Alliance and other entities' requests for information and proposals to prospective companies interested in relocating to Weber County.

Maintains the County Available Commercial Property Inventory.

Schedules quarterly business/industry visits.

Assists with economic development department marketing and promotional activities, including web and social media based efforts, marketing materials, and coordinati ng special events, ground breakings, and ribbon cuttings.

Performs the necessary administrative and technical services for the Economic Development Director to include: preparing monthly department expense reports, paying invoices, scheduling and legal postings for all county financial incentive programs, and scheduling for legislative session meetings and hearings.

Provides administrative assistance for all economic development department committees to include: scheduling and attending meetings, managing agendas and minutes, and managing all department contracts and invoices.

Other duties as assigned.

ABOUT YOU :

Education: High school graduation or equivalent; Some college coursework in business administration, economics, or related field preferred.

Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible experience in clerical and/or administrative work; work experience must be appropriate to the position to be filled. Or, any equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in accordance with government regulations or economics strongly preferred. Experience in written and verbal communication strongly preferred.

Knowledge: Working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; working knowledge of specialized duties required by the position. Knowledge of governmental concepts and economic development strongly preferred.

Skills: Use of all applicable computer hardware and software programs/applications, including Microsoft Suite; web-based applications and Gmail; using common office equipment. Preference for skills in QuickBooks and or client management software.

Abilities: Able to work with minimal supervision; coordinate work with multiple organizations; perform multiple tasks simultaneously; design presentations and speak/present in public to audiences of various sizes; effectively organize and prioritize activities and projects; exercise sound independent judgement; work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail; communicate professionally and effectively (verbally and in writing); follow written and oral instructions; establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, ot her employees, elected boards/officials, committees, allied agencies and the general public.
