Description

The Technical Writer/Communications Principal position is responsible writing and updating material for reports, meeting minutes, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods, capabilities, requirements and procedures, and may include installation, operation, and maintenance. Refines work of writers, and heads and coordinates activities of writers engaged in preparing capabilities documents, test plans, training documents or other material for contract deliverables in conjunction with customer related activities and programs.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

· Prepare/quality review presentation material, meeting minutes and briefing slides

· Draft/edit/finalize for delivery:

o Capability and Requirements Documents

o Training Plans

o Test Plans

· Work closely with Functional Requirements and Program Management Teams defining and developing integrated system capabilities, roadmaps, and schedules to include documents related to functional capabilities, program office expectations, testing, installation, training, with may include configuration, optimization, operations, and IA-compliance procedures/methods/instructions.

· Make recommendations for improving the design/content of documents needed to support programmatic and engineering activities.

· Identify document production timelines/milestones and incorporate/track all within the overall project schedule(s)

· Lead the documentation development efforts, as needed.

Qualifications

a) Must possess a Top Secret clearance and be eligible for SCI.

b) Must be US Citizen

c) Must possess three or more years of demonstrated technical writing experience that development of functional capabilities, requirement generation, and/or engineering projects involving enterprise-level IT system design, testing, integration, and implementation.

d) Must possess advanced interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate effectively, self-awareness, and excellent written and oral communications.

e) Should possess an Bachelor’s Degree or higher in English, Technical Writing, or related discipline; experience may be accepted in lieu of education

f) Should possess demonstrated experience with working with senior leadership, preferably withing the DoD.
