About the position:

This position will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation at Offutt AFB Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds. Work that requires the skills and knowledge in operating heavy equipment, continually involves extreme physical effort; such as, constantly lifting or carrying objects weighing 80 to 100 pounds or more.


I. INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this position is to perform manual labor tasks involving the use of heavy hand tools, and heavy power equipment. II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs one or a combination of the following manual labor tasks: 1. Loads, unloads, or relocates heavy or bulky items from boxcars, trucks, and other conveyances; carriers and assembles scaffolding. 2. Digs ditches and trenches with pick and shovel where dirt is hard and compact; does grading and sloping; occasionally and for short periods of time, breaks up pavement with jackhammer; mixes and pours concrete, asphalt, and hot mix; fills and levels holes in damaged roads. 3. Uses heavy (not domestic type) power mowers; adjust blades, and cleans and oils mowers; cuts trees, using ax or chain saw. III. OTHER SIGNIFICAT FACTS: 1. Skill and Knowledge: some degree of manual skill and prior work experience is required to work safely with heavy hand tools or to operate, control, and clean heavy power equipment. Continual care and attention must be exercised to prevent accidents because of the nature of the duties and the kind of equipment used. 2. Physical Effort: Heavy physical effort is required in frequently lifting and moving objects weighing over 50 pounds, and in using heavy hand tools and operating equipment.3. Working Conditions: Works outside in all kinds of weather, or indoors in areas that may be dusty, drafty, and noisy. Special care is required to avoid serious injuries. Qualifying Experience:

Experience which demonstrated the ability to operate, control and clean heavy powered equipment. Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds. Work that requires the skills and knowledge in operating heavy equipment, continually involves extreme physical effort; such as, constantly lifting or carrying objects weighing 80 to 100 pounds or more. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
