Description

Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for ensuring safety and compliance in product development? Are you experienced in functional safety engineering and ready to take on challenging tasks with determination and precision? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join Accelera by Cummins as our new Process Industry Functional Safety Engineer.

Your tasks:

  • Execute structured tasks in functional safety engineering.

  • Complete assigned tasks on time despite potential work overload across multiple platforms.

  • Collaborate with teams to ensure product safety and compliance.

  • Lead or participate in PHA (HAZOP/LOPA) risk assessments.

  • Create risk assessment reports and safety requirement specifications.

  • Conduct SIL determination and verification calculations.

  • Develop test procedures and document test results.

  • Support general product safety as needed, with a focus on functional safety responsibilities.

Qualifications

Your profile:

  • Degree in Engineering is required

  • Certification in IEC 61511 Functional Safety is essential.

  • Prior experience as a Senior or Lead Engineer in a relevant discipline area

  • Demonstrated track record of technical problem-solving and quality decision-making.

  • Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.

  • Previous experience in Process Safety and Functional Safety is preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

  • Your open to travel to our customer site’s about 25% of the time.
