JOB DESCRIPTION *Summary The Desktop and Field Support Specialist supports information technology required for day-to-day operation, installation of new systems, or modification of existing systems. Primary focus is supporting the IT Departments field and office customers. *Functional Responsibilities *Desktop Support*

  • Exhibit a strong work ethic with the ability to take direction and work in a team setting and independently.
  • Adhere to Permian Basin Materials Code of Conduct and company policies.
  • Provide daily end user support. Assist employees with any IT issues; support all printers, scanners, email, Microsoft Office and company software and hardware applications.
  • Provide daily user account management and assist with server backups and file restoration as needed.
  • Install workstations and other equipment like printers. Ensure all workstations are connected to the network and relevant servers.
  • Provide staff with technical support and training.
  • Monitor workstation backups and antivirus updates.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment including but not limited to desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and cell phones.
  • Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan layout for type of computers and peripheral equipment, or modifications to existing equipment and systems that will provide capability for proposed project or workload, efficient operations, and effective use of allotted space.
  • Monitor any software changes and make appropriate software updates as needed.
  • Configure and upgrade desktops, laptops, printers, modems, and ancillary equipment.
  • Prepare laptops, cell phones, and printers for new and existing employees.

Field Support

  • Install networking equipment at corporate and site locations such as routers, switches, and cables.
  • Install, repair, and maintain surveillance equipment in vehicles and site locations.
  • Collaborate with mechanics and safety for the continued support of camera/GPS systems.
  • Provide on call support and/or deploy new hardware to appropriate locations in a timely manner understanding urgent response time is essential to maintaining business at site locations.
  • Perform troubleshooting to isolate and correct problems.
  • Be able to configure routers, switches, and cameras.
  • Record and maintain hardware inventories and locations of all installed hardware.
