Robert Half Bookkeeper/Office Manager in Odessa, Texas

Description You might be a qualified candidate for this Bookkeeper role if you are a self-driven and organized accounting professional who thrives in a deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision. We are in search of a determined Full Charge Bookkeeper for our client. In this role, the Full Charge Bookkeeper will direct journal entries, month-end close, cash flow, financial statement preparation, audit, full cycle A/P, payroll, and bank reconciliations. The Full Charge Bookkeeper will also take care of the clerical staff. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Odessa, Texas area. Major responsibilities

  • Arrange monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents

  • Produce subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirement

  • Business license and gross receipts reporting

  • Prepare cash account journal entries including loans, taxes, bank fees, 401(k) deductions, etc.

  • Classify sales tax records and create and file quarterly payments

  • Adept in credit card management and reconciliation

  • Supply cash flow projections, as needed

  • Register budget transfers

  • Keep Accounts Payable up to date

  • Extra unique tasks if required

  • Operate monthly accounting close

  • Direct Accounts Receivable Requirements - Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to implement solutions, strong analytical and communication skills as well

  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping

  • Foundational knowledge in Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Quarterly Taxes experience highly desired

  • Strong familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Expertise in payroll

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

  • Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

    • Considerable accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred

    • 5+ years of related experience
