Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in the Oconomowoc, WI area is looking to add an experienced Supply Chain Manager to their team.

Title: Supply Chain Manager

Job Description:

As the Supply Chain Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our supply chain operations. Your responsibilities will include overseeing purchasing, inventory management, vendor management, and contract management to support our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Purchasing Management: Develop and implement strategies for procuring raw materials, components, and supplies at the best possible cost while maintaining quality standards. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast demand and ensure timely procurement to meet production schedules.

  2. Inventory Management: Optimize inventory levels to minimize carrying costs while ensuring adequate stock availability to meet production demands. Implement inventory control measures and utilize inventory management systems to track and manage inventory levels accurately.

  3. Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and address any issues or concerns to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain.

  4. Contract Management: Manage contracts with suppliers, service providers, and logistics partners. Negotiate favorable terms and conditions, monitor contract compliance, and resolve any discrepancies or disputes in a timely manner.

  5. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization within the supply chain. Implement best practices, streamline processes, and leverage technology to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.

  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other departments such as production, logistics, quality assurance, and finance to align supply chain activities with overall business objectives. Communicate effectively across departments to ensure coordination and synergy in supply chain operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) preferred.

  • Proven experience in supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and software.

  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different functional areas.

  • Strong leadership abilities and the capacity to lead and develop a team of supply chain professionals.
