The pay range is $69,000.00 - $124,200.00

As a Senior Systems Technical Trainer, you will prepare and teach classes of technical skills that are required to maintain material handling equipment in a supply chain facility. A Senior Systems Technical Trainer’s key responsibilities include assessing maintenance technician training needs, creating technical training materials, and teaching classes in person or to remote learners using virtual training tools. You will serve as a highly experienced subject matter expert who understands material flow optimization, system controls logic, and facilitates and trains effective troubleshooting techniques. You will teach maintenance technicians about preventive and predictive maintenance processes, how to troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, and quickly restore equipment to service, while following applicable safety standards.

You will conduct technical interviews of internal and external technician candidates, evaluate technical skills and abilities, and train and coach internal technicians to advance their technical skills and acumen.

You will proactively monitor and evaluate trainees’ progress within our maintenance technician curriculum and certification progression. The Technical Trainer will follow a curriculum that teaches fundamental theory or equipment-specific material for all electrical, mechanical and control systems of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) on site, including state-of-the-art conveyor and sortation systems, robotics, and Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS).

An ideal candidate should be a self-starter who can multitask and work well in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment. Candidates should possess the ability to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, train, and coach across various resources and scenarios. You must maintain thorough knowledge, train appropriate safety procedures, use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment (Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc.), and ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards. A Technical Trainer needs to have excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different learning styles and varying skill levels.

About you:

  • Two-year degree in engineering or equivalent degree

  • Ability to work a full time schedule of day or night shifts and be flexible based on classes and business needs

  • Experience using and troubleshooting industrial electrical systems, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems

  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills, with a drive for results

  • The ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work with different teams

  • Experience in teaching technical courses between 5-15 students in person and/or remote

  • Ability to work with Microsoft Products and conduct presentations

  • Occasional travel to attend training, conduct benchmarking, or assist other buildings

  • Preferred Qualifications: Expert-level knowledge and experience with automated conveyor systems and controls, work order management, Industrial Control systems, Programmable Logic Control (PLC) programs, preventive/predictive maintenance procedures, Industrial Electrical systems, Electronics, National Electrical Code (NEC), and Lock out/Tag out and electrical safety best practices
