We are currently recruiting for Generator Service Technicians to service customers in the tri-state area. The Class A (preferably) or B Diesel Mechanics will perform field work responding to a wide variety of service calls within your territory for both commercial and residential accounts while representing the company to the customer. Exceptional integrity and self-motivation are among the most important qualities that Cooper Power values in its technicians.

In this key role you will be responsible for:

Troubleshooting a variety of field service calls which will require the ability to read one-line diagrams, isolate failed components, and troubleshoot up to 400 amp Automatic Transfer Switches.

You will be operating and connecting a minimum of 100 KW bank equipment and performing engine repairs, including timing, valve adjustments, gasket/seal replacements, coolant system repairs, and fuel exhaust.

Strong electrical troubleshooting skills are required.

Job Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience with the troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical equipment, of which at least 1 year must be on diesel-driven generators and related switchgear.

Ability to obtain DOT, OSHA general industry, and NFPA 70A certifications. Training will be provided by the company.

Certification to work on Kohler generators is STRONGLY preferred. Candidates with certification with other manufacturers will also be considered

Strong communication skills and customer service skills are required.

Ability to work closely with the sales team to build confidence with current and future customers.

Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug test, and DMV record check are required for this position.

Basic knowledge of diesel, natural gas, and propane fuel systems.

Individuals considered for this position will be highly productive, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of prioritizing in a fast-paced environment. Must have the ability to adapt to change quickly and efficiently.
