Responsibilities

We are currently looking for a Full Time Lead Cook to join our Dietary team.

The Lead Cook will prepare and serve regular and special diets to patients and staff under the supervision of the Director of Dietary Services, plan and maintain quality procedures as well as meeting all approved standards set forth by the Vines Hospital, oversee the employee’s performance, and maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers

  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service

  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

  • Culinary School preferred. Food Handlers Permit or equivalent certification required.

  • Good organizational skills a must.

  • Must be familiar with inventory processes, maintaining par levels, State and Federal Safety and Sanitation Guidelines and capable of cooking by recipes and adjusting recipes.

  • High school graduate or equivalency required. Trade or vocational school training preferred.

  • Four (4) years’ experience in food service.

  • Must have knowledge of record keeping, menu planning, therapeutic diets, and purchasing practices.

    Experience in a healthcare food service facility preferred.
