JOB SUMMARY

TheFamily Care Manager Supervisoris responsible for providing supervision and direction to a team of Family Care Managers and a Family Support Worker working with children and their families with severe and persistent mental illnesses and/or substance abuse. This position provides oversight for quality assurance, risk management, financial management and clinical direction of the unit.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field. If degree is in an unrelated field, must be eligible for a waiver. Master's degree preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college of university in social work, psychology, or other behavioral healthcare discipline and five years of experience working with children and families, one of which is in providing supervision to direct service workers in related field may be considered in lieu of Master's degree.
  • Three years of supervisory experience in current program, DCF or YFA transfer to be considered eligible for FCMS II.

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Child Welfare Certification required.Must maintain certification in good standings.
  • Employer conduct Drug screen, Background check, Reference check and Motor Vehicle Record check
  • Valid Driver's license for required travel
  • Employer has additional requirements

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work in a visible position and use interpersonal communication skills to respond to children and their families, and legal entities (i.e., judges, law enforcement, CLS etc.).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to document timely in a clear, concise manner.
  • Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to withstand prolong standing and walking. Also, able to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach, stoop, bend, and/or kneel during an 8 -12-hour day due to nature of job.
  • Ability to lift, lower, push, pull and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 20 pounds. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing and/or pulling which exceeds the minimum requirements due to nature of job.
  • Ability to work indoor, temperature controlled, smoke-free environment;be exposed to the outdoor environment and handle moderate noise level due to the nature of the job.

Essential Functions:

Oversee and track critical data elementsinvolved with management report/State Scorecard via Kids Central Inc. electronic case management system.

Oversee provision of case management services, planning, linking,within 5 days of Early Service Intervention staffing, monitoring, and advocacy to assigned children and families from intake to discharge from the system within assigned care team unit.

Monitors and manages all Family Care Team reports and outcomes, including monthly visitation, judicial progress and case status.

Ensure FCM is meeting Kids Central Inc. contractual obligations provided to each supervisor annually as it is renewed. Should a FCM fail to meet any contractual obligations, the supervisor will ensure the FCM is compliant with any action needed to bring the FCM into compliance with the contract. Ensures follow up by FCM on all case reviews and recommendations from Supervisor, Quality and Permanency Reviews.

Ensure that every child in foster care from their unit is referred for a relative search and if deemed necessary, ensures that Family Finding strategies are integrated into case management functions.

Monitor Family Care Managers during home visits and court hearings at least once every two months. Should the supervisor assess the FCM to need additional training in any area, the fi ld visits will be increased to allow for mentoring by the supervisor or referral to the training unit.

Participate in staff development programs and opportunities. Participate in team meetings, client care and utilization reviews and staff meetings.

Provide administration and management duties related to staff supervision including interviewing and selection, training and orientation, supervision, performance management and development and scheduling.
