We are looking for a Data Science Trainee for 6 months to join our Technology and Innovation team in the Research and Development function in Oberwinterthur, Switzerland.

You will be part of our R&D organization and experience the development of new products from the ideation phase to market-ready products for our Separation Technology business unit. The focus for this position will be on our digitalization initiative. You will work with a dynamic and innovative team to support data-driven product development.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Building workflows to capture and structure data from our pilot plants and production facilities.

  • Statistical and machine-learning-assisted analyses of the data to identify critical parameters and optimize product development.

  • Implement new analytical technologies to further enhance our digitalization efforts.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • We look for excellent students in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering (or related fields).

  • Strong data science experience in areas including statistical modeling, data mining, data visualization and data-driven analyses.

  • Proficiency in a programming language such as Python or R.

  • Knowledge of databases and data pipelines.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected.

  • Ability to co-ordinate and prioritize various tasks.

  • Driven, innovative and curious mindset.
