    We are looking for a Proposal Manager I for our facility in Oakville, Ontario.

    JOB PURPOSE :

    The Proposal Manager I is responsible for providing timely support to external customers. They must be able to identify and articulate to both internal and external customers all technical issues of the sales process to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.

    ACCOUNTABILITIES :

  • Lead strategy on medium to large complex bid proposals.

  • Identify strategic pricing opportunities for customers.

  • Train new Technical Sales Engineers.

  • Provide sales support, track ongoing orders, and expedite or check on delivery status.

  • Assess new opportunities, prepare quotation estimates, interact with our supply chain partners and prepare quotations.

  • Follow up with customers on incoming requests for quotes and leads.

  • Review incoming sales orders to ensure information is accurate and contact customer should inaccuracies be found.

  • Forward sales order and all associated project information to the Project Management team for execution of the contract.

  • Coordinate with Project Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality and Engineering groups on a daily basis to monitor status of ongoing order.

  • Attend trade shows, industry events, visits to customer sites, vendor facilities as required.

  • Some overnight travel may be required, employee will be re-imbursed for all reasonable costs incurred with corporate travel.

  • Research and understand our industry, industrial associations and quality management processes.

  • Provide assistance to other departments such as Project Management, Procurement and/or Engineering as required.

    ADMINISTRATION:

  • Follow all company policies and health and safety procedures.

  • Wears appropriate personal protective equipment at all times when required.

  • Report any personal workplace injuries to direct supervisor immediately.

  • Report safety issues to direct supervisor as soon as possible.

    KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • Technical Degree/Diploma with preference towards Mechanical Engineering.

  • 5+ years of experience in customer support or technical sales is an asset.

  • Ability to interpret and understand drawings and technical specifications.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications.

  • Energetic, outgoing personality with a technical aptitude, quick learner, flexible and detail-oriented.

  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

    The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $60,000 and $93,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
