Job Description

Job Summary

As the ITR EI&C Project Engineer, reporting to the ITR Fulfilment Manager you will be primarily responsible for supporting the ITR team in the execution of projects and orders, strongly focusing on Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Controls and Programming. The E&IC Project Engineer will be a strongly technical role; you will amend, check or approve PLC programming, controls documentation, electrical drawings, process and instrumentation diagrams, and design specifications. You will provide EI&C design for treatment applications including drinking water, wastewater, purification & disinfection, RO & ED, ultrapure water, and boiler feed water. In addition, you will provide customers and internal teams with EI&C support and optimize designs to increase productivity for the ITR organization. As an EI&C Project engineer you will participate and lead instrumentation and controls meetings and make changes to plant process controls as needed remotely or in the field. In addition, the EI&C Project Engineer will support our field teams and customers during installation by providing technical guidance and troubleshooting both remotely and on-site. As the technical contact for customers, you will participate in project status updates and design reviews with project managers and regional lifecycle managers.

The EI&C Project Engineer will collaborate with the ITR Proposal Development team to improve the customer experience by using their technical expertise in PLC Programming, controls documentation & design, electrical drawings, process, and instrumentation to develop creative solutions for customers. You will provide support with sourcing of equipment, review equipment specifications and ensure accurate design.

Qualifications

Key Characteristics

  • Ability to collaborate in and lead cross-functional project team discussions and client meetings.

  • Proven ability to develop and follow procedures and standards, while extrapolating new concepts from established standards.

  • Knowledge of and/or demonstrated ability to learn equipment and processes related to Veolia WTS products and systems.

  • Interested in PLC Programming and plant control strategy as a primary role responsibility

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Chemical, Environmental, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer) or related

  • At least 2 years experience working with ZeeWeed or similar water treatment technology

Useful skills or abilities:

  • Note: The role requires the ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time

  • Excellent communication skills – analytical, written & verbal communication, facilitation, presentation, collaboration, documentation, etc.

  • Strong engineering foundational knowledge

  • Proven people skills and the ability to work well within a team

  • Ability to provide creative solutions to technical problems

  • Ability to rapidly shift focus from one problem to another and maintain accuracy and efficiency

  • Ability to handle evolving demands with good judgement and professionalism

  • Knowledge in ZeeWeed membrane process and operations considered a strong asset

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal guidance, while also communicating effectively and efficiently in a team environment

  • Understanding of drinking and wastewater process and chemistry considered an asset

  • Capable in interpreting electrical and mechanical engineered drawings

  • Electrical or Instrumentation and Controls experience considered an asset

  • Commissioning experience considered an asset

  • PLC programming experience considered a strong asset

  • Onsite experience working with ZeeWeed systems considered an asset
