Merit Electrical Group Material Delivery Driver and Shop Helper for Electrical Contracting Company in Oakmont, Pennsylvania

Merit Electrical Group is looking for a Material Delivery Driver and Shop Helper to join our team. The Material Delivery Driver and Shop Helper is responsible for organizing and maintaining inventory in the warehouse, delivering material, equipment, and tools to the job sites, prefabrication of various electrical assemblies, and general maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Uses a forklift and/or hand dolly to load/unload shipments and deliveries.

  • Safely drive and operate company vehicles such as stake/flat beds, bucket trucks, single axle trucks and small trucks to deliver materials, equipment and tools to and from job site locations

  • Keeps warehouse and shelves, including inventory, neat and orderly.

  • Track and manage the movement of tools and materials in the One Key inventory management system.

  • Prefab - Helps assemble and maintain electrical, wiring, equipment, fixtures

  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and work areas (cleans, sweeps etc.)

  • Performs grounds’ maintenance to include: snow removal, lawn and grass upkeep

  • Performs minor repairs and “handyman” duties to manage the general upkeep of the buildings

  • Performs scrap metal sorting and wire stripping.

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Must have reliable transportation.

  • Two years minimum experience with electrical parts and tools preferred.

  • Must pass Urine Drug Test

  • Clean Criminal Background Check (Act 34)

  • Must pass pre-employment assessments which include: Math, Reading, Writing and Professionalism Test and a Mechanical Aptitude Test

  • Previous experience driving forklifts, stake body/flat beds, operating hand tools, and basic machinery preferred

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

  • Welding and electrician experience a plus
