About the Role: Are you a hands-on problem-solver with a passion for heavy machinery? As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Birkey’s, you’ll play a crucial role in diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment to keep our operations running smoothly and our customers satisfied.

A Day in the Life: Imagine your day: You arrive at our state-of-the-art workshop, diagnose and fix machinery, collaborate with a tight-knit team, and end the day knowing you made a difference. From engines to hydraulics, you’ll tackle a variety of challenges that keep you engaged and growing.

What You’ll Do:

  • Inspect & Troubleshoot: Diagnose issues with heavy equipment using the latest diagnostic tools.

  • Repair Master: Fix engines, hydraulics, air conditioning, and electrical systems to keep machinery running smoothly.

  • Welding & Fabrication: Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed.

  • Collaborate: Work closely with your team and keep the service manager updated on repairs.

  • Stay Updated: Continuously learn and adapt to the latest technologies and equipment.

  • Safety First: Always maintain a clean and safe workspace.

  • Have hands-on experience with mechanical repairs (no degree required).

  • Can read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

  • Possess strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.

  • Are a team player with great communication skills.

  • Have welding skills (a plus, but not required).
