Jacobs Senior Bridge Engineer in Oakland, California

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Bridge Engineer in Oakland, CA, or within the nearby region. Our Bridge Engineer career opening is your opportunity to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure transportation projects. Each day, you will provide technical expertise, interact with clients, and work as a team member in completing bridge and transportation projects. You should be a self-motivated professional with a Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering and a minimum of 25 years of post-graduate experience in the transportation market. You should bring strong client relationships, have great communication skills, exhibit excellent technical expertise in bridge design/construction with the ability to lead teams, be able to manage bridge projects effectively, and have a desire to continue personally/professional growth in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Our Bridge Engineers:

  • Serve in a lead technical role on a variety of bridge and transportation projects.

  • Lead successful delivery of high-quality projects within budget and on schedule.

  • Effectively collaborate with others and lead transportation and bridge teams in all aspects of bridge analysis and design, from conceptual planning and preliminary design to final design and construction.

  • Identify creative and innovative engineering solutions based on client, project, and site constraints.

  • Provide senior technical guidance and oversight, and perform quality reviews of work by others.

  • Develop plans, specifications, cost estimates, and final bid packages for bridges and other transportation projects.

  • Effectively deliver bridge and transportation projects as the project manager.

  • Leverage your strong portfolio of client connections to support marketing activities to procure new opportunities.

  • Demonstrate leadership by organizing and actively participating in technical development and other networking activities both internally and externally.

  • Have strong written and oral communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in California and/or other western states.

  • 25+ years minimum experience delivering bridge and transportation projects.

  • Thorough knowledge of AASHTO LRFD design code, including California amendments to AASHTO, Caltrans SDC, and other Caltrans design manuals.
