Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our clients team as a Referral Coordinator.The Referral Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating patient care by managing the referral process efficiently and effectively. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to their patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review referral requests from healthcare providers, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.

  • Coordinate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to obtain necessary authorizations and referrals.

  • Schedule appointments for patients with specialist providers as needed.

  • Communicate with patients regarding referral status, appointment details, and any necessary follow-up instructions.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all referral activities and documentation.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless coordination of care for patients.

  • Assist with insurance verification and pre-authorization processes as required.

  • Provide support and assistance to patients, answering questions and addressing concerns related to referrals and appointments.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a referral coordination role.

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, insurance procedures, and referral processes.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in using computer systems and electronic health records (EHR) software.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a diverse team.

  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
