Description

A reputable California law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation, with the ability to support attorneys in managing complex cases from inception through trial. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-level paralegal support across various civil litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys with all aspects of case management, including organizing case files, maintaining litigation calendars, and ensuring deadlines are met.

  • Draft, format, and proofread a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and correspondence.

  • Coordinate and manage the discovery process, including preparing and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission, and managing document production.

  • Conduct thorough legal research and gather relevant case law, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents to support case strategies.

  • Prepare for and attend depositions, including summarizing deposition transcripts and organizing exhibits. Assist in preparing trial binders, witness files, and exhibit lists.

  • Handle e-filing of legal documents in both state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with court rules and procedures.

  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to coordinate meetings, depositions, and trial appearances. Gather and organize evidence, exhibits, and other key documents.

  • Prepare case summaries, chronologies, and reports to assist attorneys in evaluating and managing cases.

  • Provide general administrative support, including scheduling meetings, maintaining case files, and organizing case-related materials.

    Requirements

Key Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal, with a focus on civil litigation in California.

  • Strong knowledge of California civil procedure, court rules, and filing requirements.

  • Proficient in legal research tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, and case management software.

  • Experience in e-filing in state and federal courts.

  • Excellent drafting and proofreading skills, with a strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
