Description We are seeking a Sr. Data Entry Clerk to join our governmental team based in Oakland, California. This role involves administrative work in support of dues processing and contract administration, including telephone contact with union members, production of written materials, data entry, uploading data, and performing preliminary data analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and maintain accurate membership data, interact with employers for the collection of member dues, process applications, and correspond with members and staff.

• Compile, maintain and update membership application records, revocations, terminations, dues deductions, adjustments, and various other types of information online and maintain applicable hard copy information.

• Maintain and update all membership data in the Local’s membership database. Routinely get updated bargaining unit lists from jurisdictions and update the membership database accordingly.

• Process memberships and reconcile selected chapter accounts as required; respond to inquiries and problems related to the collection and accounting of membership data from chapters.

• Coordinate and organize the flow of membership data between chapters and field offices.

• Maintain communication with employers and members as it relates to dues deductions, deletions, additions or problems.

• Ensure appropriate and timely dues rate implementation and rate changes.

• Track and initiate collection procedures on all outstanding balances. Be proactive in contacting the employer for delinquent dues and payments.

• Review collection and write-off process with the Membership Team Supervisor.

• Communicate and collaborate with leaders of internal departments on membership matters.

• Assist the supervisor in coordinating workflow for membership processing and accounting.

• Responsible for proficiently using, serving as a resource, providing technical support to staff, and assisting on the adoption of the Local’s technology platforms. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Database Administration and Management.

• Proficient in using Database Software.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Experience in Public Relations.

• Ability to work in a government setting.

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.

• Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

• Proven track record of reliability and responsibility.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

• Commitment to upholding the values and mission of the government agency.
