Description

Join the efforts of a dynamic, rapidly-growing firm in the Hospitality industry as a Staff Accountant by checking out this opportunity with Robert Half. Located in the Oakhurst, California region, the organization offering this short-term contract / temporary opportunity provides rewards to those who dedicate extra effort in the work place. In this role, the Staff Accountant holds responsibility for preparing monthly and year-end closings, fixed asset maintenance, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. A great deal of time in this position will be spent producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. How you will make an impact

  • Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

  • Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

  • Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules

  • Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

  • Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

  • Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments

  • Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision

  • Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

    Requirements - Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

  • 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • General ledger experience required

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • General ledger experience

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

  • Skilled with ERP systems

  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

  • Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
