JobSummary:

Responsible for the assembly, testing, calibration, maintenance and troubleshootingof instrumentationsystems associated with the Centrus Energy Facilities.Thisworkinvolves assisting in the research and development of new processes, as well as the support for the existing production processes, manufacturing and qualifying centrifuge machines, and machine operation. Responsibilities include support for: centrifuge ancillary equipment, control systems, testing, manufacturing equipment (e.g., vacuum, temperature, flow, pressure); centrifuge machine control systems (e.g., Drive, Upper Suspension Control Systems); security systems; instrument and control equipment; and instrument calibration systems.Also responsible for providing support to the development and implementation of the associated procedures and training.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Centrifuge Instrumentation Equipment: Responsible for, but not limited to, maintenance, design modification, calibration, repair, rebuild, and refurbishment of all centrifuge machine instrumentation equipment including, but not limited to, vacuum measurement; proximity measuring devices; temperature measuring devices; special instrumentation; and associated fabrication and test equipment and fixtures.
  • Instrument and Control Systems Test and Calibration Equipment: Responsible for, but not limited to, the installation, calibration, and maintenance of instrument and electrical devices, and systems calibration and test equipment.
  • Process gas temperature and pressure systems controls (including feed and withdrawal).
  • Data Acquisition Systems: Responsible for the installation, checkout, and maintenance of the centrifuge data acquisition instrumentation including, but not limited to, hardware, interface wiring, and meters, readouts and displays.
  • Procedures: Responsible for providing the necessary support to the development of procedures, training plans, and training for maintenance, repair, calibration, and upgrades of the centrifuge facility, machine, process systems, fabrication equipment and test equipment instrumentation hardware, test equipment; and system operation testing and troubleshooting.
  • Leadership: Must possess the ability to effectively coordinate and work with a diverse group of individuals to meet or exceed cost and schedule requirements while building and maintaining a positive relationship based on teamwork. Responsible for the planning and execution of the fieldwork and ensuring the team members have adequate training and supervision.
  • Contractor Vendor Oversight: Provides support to the selection of subcontractors and vendors that provide the services and equipment necessary to operate and maintain the facility systems including technical oversight of subcontractors and vendors that provide services, materials, and equipment at the Centrus Energy facilities.

  • Health, Safety, and Security: Ability to incorporate safety, compliance, and security cultures into primary elements of all work performed.
  • Safety and Health Plan: Will comply with its requirements as they apply to this job de cription. Responsible for safety, health, and environmental compliance, and has full "stop work" authority if the activity violates, or has a probability of violating, these requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Knowledge and understanding of NQA-1 quality programs (or similar) and can fully implement site quality procedures and practices.
  • Procedures and Training: Responsible for helping define training needs and assuring completion of training consistent with job responsibilities.
  • Adherence to company policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct.
  • Compliance with all applicable Centrus Energy, DOE, NRC, NNSA and the TMC Site policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining an effective and efficient working relationship with the Facility Operations personnel and all other facility project participants.
  • The applicant must be able to meet the physical requirements specified for this position.

Education and Experience:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED with Technical School training required. An Associate Degree or BS in Electrical/Instrument Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in instrumentation and control systems design, assembly, maintenance and repair is required. Expertise in instrument and electrical systems design, process systems operations and design and systems maintenance is desirable.
  • Security Clearance: Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE level Q clearance.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily hands-on fieldwork. Some office work, supervision of contractors, planning and training is required.
  • Approximately 5% domestic travel anticipated.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • US Centrifuge experience preferred.
  • A current DOE Q level security clearance.
