IDEX HEALTH & SCIENCE Machine Shop Supervisor in Oak Harbor, Washington

IH&S Oak Harbor Production Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe and collaborative work environment for their team.  The supervisor is responsible for daily activities related to the support, production, and problem solving for their respective areas.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide support to all direct reports

  • Ensure team is meeting / exceeding their safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals

  • Conduct routine 1:1 meetings, provide career coaching, and frequent feedback on performance and behavior

  • Adhere to all company policies

  • Interview and train new hires

  • Facilitate Daily Management each day -- use DM to drive team engagement and improvements

  • Identify obstacles and inefficiencies and propose ideas / solutions to resolve

  • Evaluate skills, training gaps, and business needs to focus training efforts

  • Provide team daily staffing assignments and guidance on daily work / priorities

  • Respond to safety concerns and proactively work to resolve potential safety issues

  • Support production team during the entirety of their shift

  • Implement visual management for scheduling and work cell stability

  • Own learning ladder program for department and keep associated documents updated

  • Encourage and promote teamwork, participation, and collaboration

  • Ensure weekly cycle counts are being performed

  • Investigate and resolve work order issues, material variances, quality issues, and inventory issues

  • Able to de-escalate conflict and remain objective and direct when dealing with disciplinary actions

  • Ensures building is secure during the shift and at the end of the shift (when no shift immediately following)/Verifies there is no one left on the premises prior to departure from site at end of shift

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in manufacturing environment with three (2-5) years of increasing responsibility and leadership experience
