Boeing Global Services is seeking an Experienced P-8A Support Equipment Technician to support the USN P-8 program. This is a position located on Misawa Air Base, Japan.

This is a long term assignment for to Misawa air base, Japan for a minimum of 2 years. Relocation/assignment benefits to the international relocation will be provided.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintains complex equipment and systems by removing, replacing, repairing or upgrading components.

  • Troubleshoots problems to isolate faulty components.

  • Conducts complex functional tests by operating equipment and using appropriate test equipment.

  • Performs a variety of inspections as required by equipment maintenance documents.

  • Documents maintenance and inspection actions as required. Trains and resolves problems for less experienced technicians.

  • Leads and directs the work of other technicians.

  • Works with minimal direction.

This position requires an active US Current Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (required skill/experience):

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience maintaining aircraft Ground Support Equipment.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally on short notice. As much as 50% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications (desired skills and experience):

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Applications.

  • General automotive servicing experience with an electrical, hydraulic, and internal combustion engine background.

Typical Education/Experience :

  • Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 7 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+5 years' related work, Bachelor+2 years' related work, etc.).

Ex-Pat Information

  • Candidate must be able to obtain a work visa, depending on requirements of the country.

  • Candidate must be able to meet the cultural requirements of the country, as applicable.

  • Employment is contingent on the candidate’s ability to satisfy all labor and immigration formalities of the country.

  • Because the candidate selected will be encouraged to go on an international assignment, the offer will be contingent upon the candidate’s ability to acquire clearances from International Health Services and the receipt of a visa/work permit to the country in which they will be assigned. These contingencies also apply to any/all family members who may be relocating with the candidate.

Domestic relocation is not authorized for this position. Candidate will be located in NAS Whidbey Island, WA before they leave for their international assignment to Misawa Air Base, Japan.

Summary pay range: 57,800 - 78,200
