Northern Manufacturing General Laborer in Oak Harbor, Ohio

Description

Northern Manufacturing, a worldwide leader in stainless steel fabrication, is seeking a motivated and hard working individual to join our team on second shift. Hours are approximately 3:30pm-1:00am Monday through Friday, which include 5 hours of overtime per week.

 

Responsibilities

  • Complete tasks as assigned. Functions will vary from finishing edges, punching out parts, tapping holes, and operating small equipment. 
  • Follow instructions from supervisor and/or experienced coworkers to operate machines, supply materials and tools, and carry-out given instructions. 
  • Prepare parts for the next phase of production or shipping, with tasks such as acid washing, cleaning, buffing, etc. 
  • Assist with mechanical assembly for customer projects including, but not limited to, gear boxes, motors, etc. 
  • Observe for defective parts or equipment malfunctions, report the problems to higher-level employees, and assist with repairs and corrections if necessary. 
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and storage yards. 
  • Cross-train is other areas of production as needed. 
  • Abide by established safety policies and procedures. 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous manufacturing/fabrication facility experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or within a collaborative environment.
  • Strong team member, supporting coworkers within all departments.
