TelCom Construction Quality Control Technician in Oak Creek, Wisconsin

Overview and Essential Functions

TelCom Construction is looking for motivated employees to join our team! We are currently hiring for a full-time Field Inspector. The Field Inspector position will oversee productivity and quality of work on daily operations and help setup projects. This position oversees and works with multiple crews. In addition to setting up projects, this position works with customers on issues in the field and relays all information back to the Field Supervisor; coordinates with the Field Supervisor or Outside Plant Manager to ensure customer satisfaction.

What will you do?

  • Coordinate jobs with outside services, such as subcontractors, and management

  • Organize equipment, material and labor to complete project in a timely manner

  • Call in or email locates as needed

  • Verify accuracy of locates, materials

  • Flag projects, determine running lines off permits

  • Look into permit for any special instructions and make sure crew/sub knows

  • Maintain quality control reports

  • Update schedule and Field Supervisor on a daily basis

  • Support Supervisors and Foremen to monitor and enforce all company and outside required safety policies and procedures

  • Monitor and complete the necessary paperwork regarding employee accidents and injuries, in conjunction with Safety

  • Maintain and properly document DOT paperwork

  • Manage materials using a spreadsheet

  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous telecommunications work experience, experience running crews is preferred

  • Exceptional organizational and communication (both verbal and written) skills and problem solving skills

  • Must have knowledge of quality processes and be familiar with a variety of safety programs

  • Must be proficient with Google Suite, database software and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Comfortable working independently as well as on a team with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and customers

  • A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required

  • Class A CDL is a plus (Higher wage scales apply to CDL holders)

  • Regular out-of-town travel as required
