JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Vocational Rehabilitation Services oversees the administration of all services related to vocational rehabilitation services including the formulation and implementation of policies and procedures, compliance, administration of contractual requirements related to all employment programs, the Work Center, and the Veteran’s Initiative.

Wage/Salary: $97k to $102k

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develops, recommends, and implements, policies and procedures encompassing all phases of Vocational Rehabilitation Services.

  • Prior success in conducting internal and external audits.

  • Maintain responsibility and perform different audit tasks which include preparation, paperwork, and other associated audit reports.

  • Manage external agency audits such as SourceAmerica and NYSID.

  • Recommend different methods that could help to enhance and improve control procedures.

  • Review disability documentation for individuals referred for employment opportunities and ensure employee files are actively maintained and up to date.

  • Oversee program targets set by funders.

  • Primary liaison to funding partners.

  • Fiscal oversight of program budget, revenue, and expenses, and assist in the development of program budget.

  • Conduct assessments of all rehabilitation-related program activities, and regulatory and legislative processes to ensure adherence to best practices.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure compliance with ACCES-VR and other program contracts pertaining to the provision of vocational rehabilitation services.

  • Establish a strategic direction by developing, supporting, and implementing the strategic plans and initiatives of the agency.

  • Lead and participate in the expansion of services across states and practice areas.

  • Ensure the preparation and submission of all required statistical and narrative data for monthly and quarterly reports on program activities and performance.

  • Engage in recruitment activities including local Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Service departments and other government and nonprofit organizations for referrals of individuals with disabilities to meet the contractual obligations of the program and to ensure full capacity.

  • Ensure the professional competence of all staff, programs, and services relevant to professional standards through one-to-one professional supervision, continuing education, in-service training, and other developmental and quality assurance practices.

  • Provide progressive counseling to support staff per agency policies and procedures.

  • Complete staff evaluations on a timely basis.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Job Experience

  • MA/MS in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, etc. Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) Certification, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) preferred

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience in a Vocational Rehabilitation setting, with at least three (5) years of which must be on a management level. Experience working with persons with developmental disabilities and employment barriers is preferred.

  • An equivalent combination of related education and experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Some experience utilizing HCM Oracle.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
