Project Engineer, this is your challenge

Nestlé Nunspeet is a successful operating unit of the Nestlé Group, the world's leading food, beverage, nutrition and wellness company. Our factory in the Netherlands is producing the most advanced infant formula for both the Nutrition division and the Nestlé Health Science (NHSc) division. Our products with brands as NAN, AL110, Alfaré, Althera and Alfamino are exported to countries all over the world.

In your role you will be supporting the factory team on various projects across the whole spectrum of the factory. You could be involved in process optimizations, building rearrangements, machine replacements, energy efficiency improvements and projects ensuring the continued compliance of our factory with the strictest hygiene and quality requirements for the most sensitive of our consumers, babies.

You will manage multiple projects flexibly and with a high degree of autonomy to ensure they are implemented within a running factory environment - fast - efficiently - and well aligned with the daily work of the operations & quality teams!

You will be part of the project engineering team, an experienced team within Nestlé and the food industry. The responsibility to develop, drive and deliver will be with you, the support you’ll need will come from us!

As Project Engineer you have the following responsibilities:

  • Define the solution & project with key internal stakeholders according sometimes competing requirements and timeline of overall factory projects & priorities;

  • lead, coordinate closeout and handover individual projects within agreed factory constraints;

  • respect and follow the rules according occupational & food safety, environment and hygiene and ensure these are followed by suppliers, contractors, visitors;

  • ensure that all assets are well designed according to legal and internal rules (i.e. plant layout, equipment selection etc.) and fit the business purpose through applying new technologies, proven principles, thorough design reviews and basic science;

  • propose and control the costs relating to the projects autonomously within the budgets and with a strong scope management focus;

  • manage continuous improvement, networking, sharing information & experience in such a way that it becomes a key pillar of the engineering culture;

  • ensure that the operators, mechanics, electricians etc. are effectively trained and that the transfer of the equipment is both smooth and efficient.

As Project Engineer you report to the Project Engineering Manager and you are part of the Project Engineering Team of Nestlé Netherlands.

What we are looking for in our Project Engineer?

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar;

  • open to newcomers, 3 to 6 years’ experience in a similar function and industry is a plus;

  • experience in managing projects, for newcomers bring an example from outside of work;

  • strong communication skills, curiosity to learn and understand working in a complex environment;

  • flexible and pragmatic approach to challenges, drives solutions with the team;

  • good control of the English and Dutch language.
