News Corp Australia Governance and Risk Manager in NSW, Australia

What’s the role?

Manage our safety and security governance within our Health, Safety and Security (HSS) team. This position directly influences creating a thriving risk management culture, to enable our people to perform at their best, in a workplace free from harm.

  • Lead the safety governance function, including

  • developing and maintaining safety management policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect regulatory/legislative requirements.

  • developing and delivering training and awareness materials and plans for each aspect of the Safety Management System.

  • Manage HSS reporting and analysis including delivering Executive level ongoing program performance analysis, cultural maturity assessments, and deep dive analysis including risk profiling and trend predictions in HSS.

  • Manage compliance & data integrity by developing and implementing formal quality assurance & continual improvement programs

  • Ensure the implementation and delivery of quality improvement plans in business areas.

  • Review Departmental Risk Registers, ensuring risk forecasting and leading indicators are included and risk decisions are documented.

  • Research, analyse and collate safety and security legislative and industry updates, providing insight for senior stakeholders and partners.

  • Partnering with key client teams, develop and document business impact assessments and associated plans for critical business functions.

Who are you?

  • Safety governance management, including policy development and implementation, compliance reviews and managing regulatory requirements.

  • Demonstrable quantitative and qualitative analysis background, with evidence of data literacy across a range of platforms.

  • Experience in developing and implementing risk management frameworks, compliance programs, and governance practices.

  • Effectively collaborated with individuals from diverse backgrounds and foster an inclusive and respectful work environment

  • Strong, current knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards in Australia in safety and risk management.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Risk Management, Quality Assurance, Safety or Business Administration
