Responsibilities

 

Computer System Tech Level 1

Position Summary/ Primary Purpose Reports to the Software Engineering Manager and works as a member of a small (2 to 4 person) project team. Works, as directed, on the research, development, and configuration and testing of computer equipment and computer networks for baggage handling applications. Author/Review operational specifications and formulate and analyze computer and network equipment requirements. With direction from more senior personnel, the Computer System Tech Level 1 applies principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.

Major Areas of Responsibility Responsible for the building, installation and testing of commercial/industrial class computers and networks using Microsoft and Cisco environments. Install and configure SQLServer databases, Operating Systems, Networking Software, Firewalls, and other software as required. Work with project team members and with other technical departments in the development, configuration, testing and deployment of Automated Baggage Handling (ABH) computer systems for the airport/airline industry. Assist the production and review of product/project documentation for both internal and external use.

Broad Knowledge as Follows

Upto 3 years of work with workstation and server class products from HP/Dell/IBM Upto 3 years of work with Microsoft Windows Server. Some knowledge/understanding of Windows management tools Upto 3 year experience with TCP/IP networks and Cisco network products Some experience with VMWare, Hyper-V or other hypervisors. Industrial automation (PLC or OPC) experience is a plus. Qualifications
