ONYX Insight Senior Hardware Quality Engineer in Nottingham, United Kingdom

The Role

We are seeking a talented Quality Engineer or Quality Manager (depending on experience) to ensure that our Advanced Sensing hardware products are delivered globally and to the highest levels of quality and performance. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail orientated and process driven established engineer who has a thirst for knowledge and an aptitude for technology. Experience in developing and running Quality process with strong practical engineering skills in electronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a similar discipline are all key to success in this role.

Key responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Advanced Sensing team to develop a deep understanding of Onyx Insight's Advanced Sensing products and supply chain.

• Develop and manage Quality processes and documentation within the team. Drive world-class quality processes for a growing portfolio of products.

• Track data and quality KPIs, including details of hardware units shipped around the world, quality data and test reports.

• Communicate with third party suppliers; complete audits and quality assessments with key suppliers.

• Specify detailed test and certification plans for new products with support from Engineer teams, including EMC, shock and vibration, electrical safety & environmental testing.

• Maintain and update compliance documentation for regulatory bodies such as CE and FCC. Ensure that Onyx's hardware products remain compliant in global territories.

• Run returns and warranty processes. Perform testing on non-compliant components; coordinate actions with internal teams and customers

Ideally you'll have:

• A strong practical background in engineering quality with proven technical experience in electronics, mechanical engineering or a similar discipline

• Driven and motivated to take a leading role in a small but growing team. Outstanding initiative, with the resourcefulness to develop and deliver new processes

• Detail orientated with a methodical approach to solving complex problems

• A collaborative approach, able to communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders

• A quick learner with the ability to acquire a deep understanding of our products

• Experience in a hardware production and/or quality processes would be beneficial.

• Relevant professional qualifications in Quality would be beneficial.
