General Labor - Farrar Corporation - Located in Norwich, KS

Starting wage $18/hour

The general labor position is entry level, and is an important part of the final step in our ductile iron foundry process, utilizing a grinding wheel, small hand grinders, as well as running our CNC controlled grinding machines to produce product for our Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's) throughout the Unites States. Your work ethic and attention to detail can be used to work your way through the general labor process into advancement in other areas including core making machines, mold making machines, or working in our melt department pouring ductile iron.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Process castings that can, but rarely, weigh up to 70 pounds.

  • Operate manual and computer-controlled grinding equipment

  • Read and understand documented work instructions, drawings, and required paperwork

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing background/environment preferred, but not required

  • Ability to work and interact in both a team environment and solo workspace

  • Desire to learn and grow within the field of ironwork

Work Schedules

  • Hours are 5:30a - 4:00p Monday - Thursday.

  • Overtime as scheduled and required to maintain deliveries
