Position Reports to:  Engineering Manager or Machine Shop Manager

Position Summary

The Tool Builder/CNC Programmer will be responsible for running and programming the machining centers in the Farrar Pattern Shop.  Our pattern shop has three CNC vertical milling machines and multiple manual mill and lathe machines in Norwich KS. This position will produce tooling and may be asked to assist with process improvement projects in our machine shops.

                                                                                                                                                Primary Responsibilities

  • Operating and Programming for all CNC machines

  • Machining of pattern and corebox equipment

  • Foundry tooling modifications

  • Tool, insert, and fixture changes as necessary

  • Assist in foundry repairs as needed

  • Assist in tooling designs

  • Program and build machining fixtures

    Minimum Requirements

  • Machining experience is required

  • Manufacturing environment

  • CNC programming in G-Code

  • Working knowledge of MasterCAM or related software

  • Self-Starter with strong organization skills
