[JOB OPPORTUNITY: Hospitalist

[The William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, CT (Backus) seeks two full-time Hospitalists to work at Backus and Windham Hospital in Willimantic, CT (Windham). This position will accept admission for all adult patients presenting to the hospital for admission in accordance with the patient acceptance policy; consult with and care for patients already admitted to or being consulted on by the Hospital Medicine service; deliver documentation in the written and electronic record, consistent with the hospital's ongoing clinical documentation and quality metric programs; work with emergency department physicians and other specialty services to assure effective communication and transition of patients to optimize their care; work with other specialty services to assure highest quality of patient care through consultations to and from appropriate specialty services; make referrals to community physicians; provide leadership in committees and task forces and participate in educational activities related to Hospital Medicine services. This position requires travel to Windham, as needed, based on patient care and staffing needs.

[Minimum requirements: possession of a U.S. M.D. or D.O. degree or its foreign equivalent; completion of three-year residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine; board eligibility or certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine; and the possession of or eligibility for an unrestricted Connecticut medical license.
