Nesco Resource Machining Supervisor in Norwalk, Ohio

Are you looking for a rewarding career with a family owned business feel? As the Machining Supervisor you will oversee and manage the production within the machining shop including CNC, CNC Lathes, grinders, drilling and milling machines. Assign work tasks based on experience and length of job and availability by interpreting blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics. Title: Supervisor of the Machine Shop Location: Norwalk Shift: 1st (Hours for position are dictated by workload and may require more than a typical 40-hour week) Wages: $25 to $30 based on experience JOB FUNCTIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to work in shop floor environment, able to sit, stand, balance, stoop, kneel, walk and use fingers to feel objects, tools and controls
  • Trains and manages machining employees.
  • Works directly with scheduling to ensure delivery dates are met.
  • Oversees operation of machines such as lathes, grinders drilling and milling machines.
  • Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task.
  • Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production.
  • Use measurement and math skill to ensure quality of precision on projects.
  • Use forklifts/overhead cranes and other lifting/moving devices to maneuver projects.
  • Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
  • Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.
  • Maintains inventory of completed products.
  • Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.
  • Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
  • Communication with Shop Foreman/Engineers and Project Managers.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Other tasks as assigned/required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 years previous experience as a machinist
  • 2 years previous supervisor experience required.
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Able to review drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Use measurement and math skill to ensure quality of precision of projects.
  • Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
