Job Title: Supervisor Cardiac Invasive Services (RN)

34 Maple Street, Norwalk, CT - 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm and on call after hours and weekends

Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practice locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care. Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates.

Summary:

The Cardiac Invasive Services Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Cardiac Lab, ensuring continuity of patient care, maximum efficiency of patient flow, clinical leadership and mentoring of personnel, and oversight of quality improvement initiatives. The Supervisor is responsible for maintaining proper staffing in the cardiac lab and coverage for the On-call program. This position reports to the Director of Cardiovascular Clinical Operations for inventory and budget recommendations.

Responsibilities:

1.Assigns, allocates and supervises daily workload. Evaluates effectiveness and quality of work. Recommends modifications to operating procedures to meet changing work conditions and operating requirements for the team, patients, and providers.

  1. Responsible to manage cardiac lab schedule, maintain proper staffing levels in the cardiac lab as well as coverage for the On-call program.

  2. Coordinates and maintains inventory par levels and equipment resources. Participates in product evaluation.

  3. Fosters supportive environment for staff growth and development.

  4. Mentors staff by providing education, demonstrating flexibility, supporting problem solving and process improvement.

  5. Coordinates with the Invasive Lab, physicians in scheduling procedures and ancillary services.

  6. Ensures the flow of communications between referring physicians and interventional cardiologists to provide effective coordination of services including scheduling/transferring patients in elective, urgent and emergent situations.

  7. Conducts regular meetings to keep team notified of any changes in policy, procedures, and regulations. Trains new personal and provides assistance when necessary to support the needs of the Department.

  8. Represents department in Leadership committees and interdepartmental initiatives.

  9. Works with Director for inventory and budget recommendations.

  10. Develops performance goals with staff and conducts performance review.

  11. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Level Degree

  • Minimum of 3 years Cath Lab/EP experience.

  • 3 years management experience preferred.

  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Electronic Medical record, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Ability to interact with referring physicians and patients in emergent situations.

  • Essential Credentials:

  • Registered Nurse

  • Basic Life Support

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support

PREFER: IV certification

PREFER: PCI experience

Essential:

  • Some manual skills / motor coord & finger dexterity

  • Some occupational risk

  • Sedentary/light effort. May exert up to 10 lbs. force

  • Generally pleasant working conditions.

Salary Range: $39.2088 - $72.8280 Hourly, commensurate with experience
