Pulmonary/Critical Care Faculty Opportunity – Norwalk Hospital - Norwalk, Connecticut (50 miles from New York City)

Norwalk Hospital, part of Nuvance Health, has an excellent opportunity for a full-time, employed Pulmonary/Critical Care Physician in Norwalk, Connecticut, located one hour outside of New York City in suburban Fairfield County. This is a unique opportunity to join a long established teaching program with the opportunity for a faculty appointment. Our practice includes seven full-time physicians. The Norwalk Hospital Pulmonary Fellowship is a Yale University School of Medicine-affiliated program. Our practice is a collegial group with a strong commitment to teaching.

The ideal candidate will be board certified/eligible in both pulmonary and critical care medicine.. Responsibilities include direct and consulting pulmonary medicine care to inpatients and outpatients, and direct and consulting critical care services. There is also participation in teaching of medical students, residents, and fellow who rotate on the inpatient pulmonary consult service or in the ICU. This includes rounding and may also include teaching conferences or didactic lectures on PCCM topics. There are potential leadership opportunities in critical care for interested candidates with applicable experience. We have a robust pulmonary tumor board and an active Global Health program. Norwalk Hospital also has a one-year Sleep Medicine Fellowship program.

We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including base salary plus incentives and allowances for CMEs and dues expenses as well as a relocation stipend.

Norwalk Hospital has 366 beds and is also a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 50,000 ED visits per year. In addition to the Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine fellowships, Norwalk Hospital houses Internal Medicine and Radiology residencies, and a Gastroenterology fellowship. As a teaching hospital, we are a branch campus of the University of Vermont College of Medicine. We are also affiliated with the Yale University School of Medicine, Ross University School of Medicine and the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine through our teaching programs. Our employed Medical Practice includes 1000+ physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.

Norwalk Hospital is ideally situated in Fairfield County, Connecticut, along the Long Island Sound. The city of Norwalk is rich in cultural diversity and offers many venues for 4 season outdoor and indoor recreational activities. There are highly rated public and private schools and universities in our area. New York City is easily accessible by car or train.
