Job Description

The role as Senior Manager - Insurance, reporting to the Head of Global Insurance, will support the building and developing of GE Vernova’s Global Insurance function. The Sr Manager – Insurance will develop a thorough understanding of GE Vernova’s business, and in conjunction with the Head of Insurance develop, partnerships across the business and the insurance industry to enable the identification, quantification and management of insurable risk as well as provide subject matter expertise. This role will provide risk management expertise and guidance in achieving compliant and efficient insurance programs and ensures relevant risks are adequately covered by way of insurance or other risk management techniques.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead select insurance placements, including the management and negotiation of coverage. Renewal of these programs involves setting renewal strategy; collection and presentation of underwriting data; negotiation of policy terms and conditions with detailed review and technical knowledge of policy form terms, conditions, and endorsements

  • Drive the reduction of insurable risk in partnership with the operating team in the segments/business

  • Management and further development of GE Vernova’s Origami RMIS application to ensure timely and accurate collection and retention of insurance policy placement data and associated claims, insurance policy governance, and provision of program services inclusive of claim reporting and certificate issuance

  • Drive/ collaborate on risk profile improvement in key areas including employee safety, cyber security governance and sourcing and commercial contractual terms related to indemnity, limitation of liability and insurance requirements

  • For select insurance placements, ensure third-party administrators are adjusting claims in accordance with required standards and Delegation of Authority; drive/ oversee timely and appropriate resolution of risk transfer claims; collaborate with finance and/or legal to ensure all outstanding claims are properly valued and reserved; and work with captive as appropriate

  • Assist the Head of Insurance with strategic priorities; lead placement and management of select insurance placements inclusive of claim resolution; and lead related service delivery

  • Create educational material and provide access to self-help information/ provide educational sessions to empower users to independently make well-informed decisions involving insurance and allocation of insurable risk

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, risk management or related field

  • 8-10 years of risk management experience in large commercial insurance lines or risk management; global and international program experience preferred

Desired Characteristics:

  • Risk management designation/certification (ARM, CPCU) a plus

  • Demonstration of key finance competencies

  • Strong leadership experience, including demonstrated ability to create and develop teams and partnerships; set strategy; project manage and deliver committed results

  • Strong written and oral leadership communication and executive presence

  • Risk management mindset, anticipating issues and potential mitigation

  • Strong technical knowledge of insurance program coverages and markets

  • Experience in RMIS systems

  • Experience in claim process oversight and claim resolution

  • Energy industry knowledge desired

The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $250,000 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.
