Description

Summary:

Coordinates, maintains and administers supplies and equipment for the daily operation of the Anesthesiology Department. In the absence of the supervisor, performs clinical duties relevant to the functions of the department under the direction of the Chairman.

Responsibilities:

  1. Stocking and cleaning anesthesia carts. Criteria A: Check and refill supplies according to listing on a daily basis. Stocking and cleaning anesthesia carts. Criteria B: Check expiration dates on medications.

  2. Stocking anesthesia supplies. Criteria A: Stock supplies in workroom,X-ray,GI and MRI to ensure supplies are always available. Stocking anesthesia supplies. Criteria B: Transfer supplies from storage closet on an as needed basis.

  3. Equipment checks and maintainence. Criteria A: Check and maintain various ansthesia equipment. Equipment checks and maintainence. Criteria B: Trouble shoot any problems, if possible, on the anesthesia equipment. Equipment checks and maintainence. Criteria C: Cleaning and sterilization of all used equipment. This involves working closely with the SPD department.

  4. Supplies. Criteria A: Inspect received supplies in the absence of the coordinator. Supplies. Criteria B: Maintain daily log in the communication book. Supplies. Criteria C: Order stockroom supplies on a daily basis. Supplies. Criteria D: Immediate replacement of anesthesia supplies and equipment as needed between operative procedures.

  5. Added responsibilities. Criteria A: Organize and label anesthesia workroom to ensure equipment is easy to find. Added responsibilities. Criteria B: Add new items to the workroom. Added responsibilities. Criteria C: Assist in collecting, coding, and entering daily Anesthesia tickets into the hospital computer. Added responsibilities. Criteria D: Assist anesthesia staff for emergencies in all anesthetizing locations.

  6. Coordination of workload during the absence of another anestheria clerk or coordinator. Criteria A: Take on exrtra workload as and when needed to maintain smooth operation of the department.

  7. Phone calls and messages. Criteria A: Maintain daily log on stock problems, equipment, etc. in the communication book for the following shift. Phone calls and messages. Criteria B: Coordinates phone calls and messages according to nature of emergency.

  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

  9. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

Education: HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT

Other Information:

Required: High School Graduate--Speak and write fluently in English. Minimum 2 years experience in an Anesthesiology Department.

Minimum Experience: two years

Desired: Certified Anesthesia Technician, Pharmacy Tech license.
