Norwalk Hospital, an affiliate of Nuvance Health is seeking a Part-time Weekend Day Hospitalist for Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, CT. Work in a collegial work environment with experienced physicians in a family-friendly location close to NYC.The ideal candidate is a highly competent, well trained internist or family practitioner to join our expanding team of inpatient specialist physicians. Norwalk Hospital is a Yale-affiliated community teaching hospital with a robust internal medicine residency program, located less than an hour from NYC in beautiful Fairfield County. This position is eligible for Incentive Compensation in addition to salary and also includes pro-rated PTO and CME time off and allowance and 401k eligibility.

Norwalk Hospital, a Level II Trauma Center, is accredited as a Stroke Center and certified to provide Emergency Angioplasty for heart attack. Established in 1893, Norwalk Hospital is a 366 bed, not-for-profit community hospital providing Fairfield and Westchester County residents convenient access to exceptional care, close to home. As a teaching hospital, we are associated with University of Vermont Larner School of Medicine, Yale University, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, Sacred Heart University, UConn, Quinnipiac, and Western Connecticut State University among others.

Astride a hill with a commanding view of the Long Island Sound, Norwalk Hospital serves a varied and attractive region of Southern Connecticut. The hospital is just minutes from beautiful places to hike, swim, sail or walk along the beach. Connecticut Magazine recently named South Norwalk as the “hottest” nightspot between Boston and New York City, with a plethora of theater groups and restaurants to choose from. New York City is easily accessible by car or train.

Job Summary:

Provide medical care to patients, assist them to recover from acute illnesses and minimize the effects of chronic illnesses as well as precept our IM Residents and medical students.

Job Requirements:

  • MD or DO with CT State and Federal Narcotic Use Registration

  • Have successfully completed an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Residency

  • Preferred: Prior experience as a Teaching Hospitalist

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible

  • Willingness to work Two 12 hour shifts every other weekend, approximately 7 AM – 7 PM
