The Production Supervisor is responsible for

  • Day to day operations of the production department
  • Direct supervision of all staff
  • Assure effective methods and procedures are utilized to meet production schedules, workflow, quality control, inventory, job scheduling and provision of sufficient amount of work within the facility.

Knowledge & Skills 

  • Knowledge of: organizational policies, procedures and Chapter 2390 Vocational Regulations
  • knowledge related to industrial work and common safety hazards and precautions to insure a safe work environment. 
  • Understanding of goals/objectives and data collection.
  • Skill in: identifying problems with efficient completion of production standards and recommending options
  • Establishing, supervising, and maintaining production quality and meeting customer deadlines
  • Ability to modify production techniques to meet customer standards and shipping schedules.
  • Ability to: read and write, interpret, adapt and apply guidelines
  • Teach and train staff and individuals
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with staff and individuals
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, individuals, staff and customers
  • Maintain confidentiality, and work cooperatively with other staff members 

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged standing
  • Corrected vision and hearing to within normal ranges
  • Stooping and lifting up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours as necessary
  • Excessive walking; walking up and down stairs.

Equipment

  • Requires the use of standard office equipment: personal computer, electronic calculator, fax machine, telephone, copy equipment, etc.
  • Some familiarity with the use of pneumatic pallet jacks, powered forklift
  • Some knowledge of truck operations.

Minimum Employment Requirements - A Bachelor's Degree or above in Business OR Engineering or an Associate's Degree and 2 years industrial work experience OR High School Diploma/GED with 4 years industrial work experience with 2 years supervisory experience. A current valid PA driver's license.
