In this role as an experienced technical writer, you will lead the development and maintenance of technical documentation for solutions across the HBT Technical Publications team with a focus on the Fire and Life Safety line of business. You will work in a global environment and collaborate with other content developers, product owners, offering managers, engineers, developers, UI designers, operations and other stakeholders to deliver documentation. The documentation of the solutions includes software and hardware and should be designed for customer consumption. You have the natural ability to evaluate and analyze complex information and then clearly explain them to others in simple terms.
the salary range for this position is $62,300 - $77,900. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
THIS ROLE:
Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards
Identify with product management technical documentation tools to support our physical and digital products
Work in a diverse global team to create and deliver high quality technical content in a timely manner
Work closely with engineering, regulatory and marketing teams to develop and review technical content
Apply modern technical writing techniques and tools to ensure customer clarity
Maintenance of existing technical documentation artifa
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor’s Degree
2+ years of experience in a technical documentation role with superior written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on detail
2+years of experience negotiating and working with a global writing team
High fluency level of English written and oral
WE VALUE
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication or technical field preferred
Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization
Experience using modern development processes, such as SAFe Agile
Certification through the Society for Technical Communicators
Experience using Madcap Flare (preferred), Adobe Framemaker, or other XML tools to create documentation
