Job Description Summary

The Senior Project Manager will lead Customer Project Management processes to execute Solar & Storage (BESS) Projects for Equipment Supply, EPC, Turnkey and Coordination for Installation & Commissioning reporting to Regional Projects & Services Leader – APAC.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Act as the single point of contact to the customer for timely and satisfactory execution of Battery Energy Storage and Solar Projects.

  • Responsible for execution of Battery Energy Storage and Solar Power Projects (Reservoir Inverter Units, Reservoir Storage Units, Solar Inverter, Solar Power Island, EPC BESS/Solar Projects) commonly ranging in value from $10 $200M.

  • Meet business expectations by executing projects following GE projects operational processes involving Safety, Quality, Schedule, Cost, Margin enhancement throughout project cycle, Cash flow, Manage Risks and successfully close projects.

  • Drive customer experience during execution through effective communication, contract compliance and meeting expectations with respect to safety, quality, and delivery.

  • Manage the execution of customer contracts from contract finalization through contract close out including reporting, receivables, change order and claim negotiation, and issue resolution.

  • Translate customer needs / requirements into detailed project plans and collaborate with cross functional global teams of Engineering, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Logistics, and other regional functions and drive for on time delivery and quality execution.

  • Manage a network of internal and external resources (including contractors) for on field Installation & Commissioning execution activities.

  • Identify opportunities to expand the project in ways that bring value to our customer and enhance project profitability.

  • Meet GE business expectations by managing safety, quality, short cycle schedule, cost, margin, cash flow, and risks.

  • Facilitate local procurement through local GE entities.

  • Support the development of proposals with practical solutions for execution.

  • Attend or organize meetings, conference calls between customers and GE for any resolutions about project execution, technical issues and/or business discussions.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college (Engineering preferred)

  • Solar Energy System, Battery Energy Storage, and/or Hybrids product knowledge and business process experience

  • Minimum 3 years of project management or customer management experience (GE experience preferred)

  • Familiar with AEMO, Australia local GPS processes and Connection requirements.

  • Position is work from home based in Brisbane/Sydney with an expected 50% travel.

Desired Characteristics

  • Solar and Storage power plant Projects execution, construction, operations, maintenance, and/or service experience.

  • Strong fundamental working knowledge GE Solar & Storage products, manufacturing, testing, and service processes.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems, lead programs / projects.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
