Amazon Postdoctoral Scientist, Amazon Robotics, R&D in North Reading, Massachusetts

Description

Amazon is looking for talented Postdoctoral Scientists to join our AR R&D for a one-year, full-time research position.

The research work for this position will focus on path planning and optimization techniques responsible for guiding large fleets of autonomous mobile robots operating collaboratively with people. The work will have the opportunity to address a wide range of topics such as global path optimality guarantees, global representations for dynamic environments, trajectory optimization considering fleet-level constraints, optimization of traffic flow, and multi-agent coordination. This position will uniquely provide the opportunity to work on a key component that will improve the performance of large fleets of robots. The selected candidate will interact with a diverse scientific group of data scientists, motion planning and AI scientists, and a large community of robotics scientists at Amazon, which include world-renowned academics with Amazon appointments.

Basic Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field, received within 2 years of starting the program

• Proven publication record in Path Planning and Optimization

• Publications in related topics in Machine Learning, Robotics, Computer Vision, AI, Computer Science, Econ, Reinforcement Learning or other related technical fields

• Experience in data science and quantitative research

• Proficiency in technologies relevant to the subfield

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to independently deliver results in a fast-paced environment

• Publications at top-tier, peer-reviewed conferences and/or journals

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Expert knowledge in modeling and performance, operationalization, and scalability of scientific techniques and establishing decision strategies
