Charter Care Health Partners Physical Therapist Assistant - SJH in North Providence, Rhode Island

Summary: Administers prescribed physical therapy programs under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to restore function and in conjunction with the plan of care, including but not limited to; gait training, balance training, therapeutic exercises, modalities and patient education. Documents in medical record. Treats patients of varying ages.

Education: In addition to the skills normally obtained through completion of a High School education, must possess an Associate Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program.

Licensure: Rhode Island Physical Therapy Assistant license is required.

Experience: Preferred, but not required.

    Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements :

    Clean, well-lighted, and well-ventilated area. Exposed daily to disagreeable odors, sights of bodily wastes and contaminated equipment. May be exposed to infectious diseases and/or bodily harm from combative patients. Required to carry, push, pull equipment as well as turn, transfer, and assist patients with ADLs and/or therapeutic (PROM and AROM) exercise. Required to use eyes, hands, and fingers with skill in administering therapy evaluations and treatments, and completing progress notes, reports, summaries, and letters. Follows safety regulations, Infection Control policies, and Universal Precautions. Regular Staff is required to work the hours for which hired including weekend and holidays coverage if that is part of the operations of the department. Per Diem Staff is required to work two (2) shifts per month as the needs of the department dictate. Must meet annual safety training requirements per hospital policy.
