Job Brief Under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager, Shift Supervisor and Warehouse Lead Person, the Forklift Operator is responsible for removing pallets from the Can Line palletizer and transporting them to the warehouse. JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Operate a doublewide pallet-handling forklift truck. Change forklift batteries and fill with water as needed. 2. Operate bar code scanning equipment. 3. Monitor inventory as production is completed and stores in warehouse. Complete all verification paperwork required to document correct inventory. 4. Must have ability to organize warehouse to complete production requirements. 5. Must have the ability to work with little or no supervision. 6. Must have good communication skills. 7. Must be detail oriented and handle multiple tasks at once. 8. Must be flexible to work hours of all production lines. 9. Follow good housekeeping practices and comply with safety and sanitation procedures. 10. Assist other forklift operators as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: Requires education as normally acquired in high school or equivalent with coursework in Basic English and shop mathematics. Requires ability to complete Forklift Operator's training course and successfully pass test to obtain a Forklift Operator's License. Previous experience with a forklift truck is helpful, but not necessary. Requires ability to lift up to 100 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions. Requires ability to communicate with management and other employees. Must possess legible handwriting skills. Must be able to work under a minimum of supervision.
