Space Dynamics Laboratory Cable and Harness Technician in North Logan, Utah

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL), a University Affiliated Research Center, has been developing innovative technologies and solutions for cutting-edge DoD and intelligence programs for over six decades. Our expertise is in space and airborne IR, VIS, UV, and RF sensors, small satellite technologies, test and calibration, cybersecurity, data visualization and assurance, and ground stations.

SDL is seeking a Technician for cable and harness assembly. This position includes communicating and providing feedback to engineering, interfacing with Stockroom and Manufacturing Specialists, and completing necessary workmanship training in crimp cable harnesses, hand soldering, visual inspection of assemblies, potting of connectors, and cable specific testing and labeling. Occasional overtime conditions may be requested for this position.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School graduate, GED, or some higher education

  • Ability to see a project though from start to finish

  • Self-motivated, dependable, and detail oriented

  • Ability to learn automated machine operation

  • Ability to identify and work through problems that may arise

  • Skilled at hand soldering and rework of cable assemblies

  • Ability to pass IPC and NASA training to space level quality

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office products (i.e., Word, Excel)

  • Comfortable with teamwork and communication within the team

  • Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a US government security clearance
